Island Water Charters: FAQ

How long is the ride?

Each flight is about 7 - 8 minutes of air time. Most trips are about an hour, depending on how many others are on the boat with you.

How old do you have to be?

Flyers be at least 6 years old. There is no age maximum, however you must be able to stand up on the boat and follow the captain's instructions. Children must be 5 or older to ride on the boat.

Are there weight requirements?

Yes. Weight ranges fluctuate depending on wind conditions. Usually the minimum combined weight requirement is between 180 - 250lbs, and the weight maximum is 450lbs.

Can we fly together?

Absolutely! In fact, we think it's best to share in the spectacular views with someone by your side. We fly our guests either tandem or triple, as long as the combined weight for all passengers in the chute at once is no more than 450lbs.

Will I get wet?

You can get wet, or you can stay dry. Most people enjoy a quick dip of the feet, especially on a hot summer day, but if you prefer to stay dry, just notify the captain. Take off and landings are directly from the boat.

What time of day should I go?

We have trips going out almost every hour, start at 9 am. We recommend going in the morning as conditions are usually at their best.

How high up can I go?

For a standard flight we'll let you out with 600 feet of line or you can go the limit and soar as high as legally allowed with our upgraded 800' flight.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are not required, but recommended, especially during the summer months. This ensures you can go at the time you prefer.
